Towcestrians, your successful sports club serving the residents of Towcester and the surrounding area, have a vacancy for a Club Treasurer. Following the investment of nearly half a million pounds over the last two years and the appointment of a Club Steward, the General Committee wish to complete the strategic management of the business with the appointment of a Club Treasurer. This part time role, of around a day a week, will be responsible for supervising the club bookkeeper and overseeing the preparation of monthly management accounts and budgets for the social club, rugby, hockey, cricket and tennis sections as well as all statutory returns. An accountant by training and an awareness of the operations of VAT in this partially exempt environment would be an advantage. The successful applicant will be a motivated self starter able to work collaboratively with the Club Chairman to ensure the prudent financial management of the Club secures the investments recently made for all local sports lovers of the future.
