Development XV – Bicester Away – by Mark Frost

Final score 14-38 to Tows

Towcester 2s where in the pool and managed to get a friendly match away to Bicester if you can call it that . The game started and Bicester took full advantage of the wind and slope with a big kick off into the Tows 22 and that’ was it for 6 minutes and Bicester got the try with constant pressure from the big forwards and with the conversion 7-0 to Bicester. Towcester came back strong with a try from a well worked driving maul from flanker Jack Snook but tows still looked fast asleep and the conversion missed .
Bicester again threw all the forwards into a frenzy of pick and drives which the Tows handled but with 2 missed tackles Bicester got there 2nd try and conversion 14-5 to Bicester. With frustration being shown from both sides it was Tows winger and ex Bicester player Kris Ancil Who got a yellow card and was given a 10 minute cool down but this gave Tows the wake up call they needed and all the players pulled together with a fantastic try from skipper Sam Sturley who used his momentum to push threw several tackles to get his first try of the game . Bicester at this point had the tables turned on them and was getting a lesson from the Towcester side on how to play rugby with some great set pieces Rob Lees got his try and had to leave the pitch as his little pinky decided to point in the opposite direction and with subs made the Tows squad added more pain to Bicester with Callum Garwood getting the try and the conversion half Time 14-31 to Tows .
The 2nd half started very much the same way as the first but Tows decided to keep the ball to hand and used the forwards to punish the tiring Bicester forwards and another try from Jack Snook finished them off.
