Sports Update

Rugby
Following an up and down end to March which saw the 1st Team dumped out of the Alliance Cup then thrash local rivals Buckingham, the Tows enter a crucial phase in the season. The coming week’s fixtures are crucial to define the season and perhaps next season to, so please come and support the team!

Wednesday 8th April. Tows play in the Semi Final of the Lewis Shield away against Old Scouts. KO is 7.30 so time to grab a bite to eat and go over and cheer the lads on! Next stop Franklin’s Gardens?

On Saturday 11th April Tows take on table topping Chippenham at home in what will be a tremendous game and a great day out for all as the game is proceeded by a Towcestrians Ladies Charity Lunch (some tickets left!) and followed up by the rugby section having “a Bit of a Bash”, they are putting on a DJ and letting their hair down whatever the result is!
KO on Saturday is 3.00 pm. Hot food and drinks available all afternoon and evening! please come and support and have some fun to!

An extra fixture is now taking place on Saturday 25th April. Tows have earned a playoff place for promotion to the National League. The game is likely to be against Ivybridge from Devon. KO 3.00 pm. It’s going to be a hell of a party whatever the result. Towcestrians in the playoff for the second year in a row. An outstanding performance.
The 2nd XV (Development Team) and the 3rd XV (Ultimates) both stand on top of their leagues and it shows the strength in depth at Towcestrians.

It doesn’t stop there…. The Colts have reached the final of the Oceanic Cup, again this year following a hard fought encounter with Casuals. Please come down to Franklins Gardens and give your great supports to the Colts, KO is at 6pm on the 14th April.

Hockey
It’s been a season of change in the Hockey section with the emphasis on bringing on the youth and building for the future. The First Team secured their place in Midlands Div 1 but unfortunately the Second Team had a dismal season and were relegated back to Northants Div 1, however valuable experience was gained by the young girls many of whom had appearances in the 1st X1!
The 3rd X1 had their best ever season and finished runners-up in Northants Div 2 with loads of young girls having a great season lead by some older heads. This means that they have been promoted to Northants Div !, for the first time in Tows history . Many congratulations to all those involved with the playing running and coaching of the team! Well done!
It bodes well for next season and the future.
