Towcester Archers are are a target archery club formed in the summer of 2020.
Archery is an active, inclusive and accessible sport that can be enjoyed by the whole family. Whether your aim is to compete in tournaments or to simply get outside and shoot a few arrows to relax after a busy week, it’s a sport that can be as serious or relaxed as you like.
Our club is made up of members all ages from 8 years old and above, shooting several bow styles. The main ones being Olympic style Recurve, Recurve Barebow, Compound, and traditional bow styles such as Longbow or Flatbow.
If you are interested in taking up archery and joining Towcester Archers, you will need to complete an archery beginners course first. Our courses are run by our own experienced Archery GB registered coaches and designed for your enjoyment, as well as teaching the important safety rules and good basic shooting technique. Course information including any confirmed dates can be found here: https://towcesterarchers.co.uk/beginners-courses/
As well as beginners courses we also run several taster sessions throughout the year mainly during the summer, so please keep an eye on our website and on social media for firstname.lastname@example.orgFor more information please contact our club secretary:
We would love Towcester Archers to continue to grow as a fun and sociable club. We encourage personal enjoyment in the sport first and foremost, along with personal progression and friendly competition. Whether your aim is to compete in tournaments or to simply get outside and shoot a few arrows to relax after a busy week, it’s a sport that can be as serious or relaxed as you like.
During the outdoor season from April to September we are based at Towcestrians Sports Club. Currently we are using the available Rugby pitches until our permanent shooting range is ready, located beyond what will be the new cricket pitch. Once the range is complete, members will be able to shoot 7 days a week all year round.
From October until March we shoot indoors at Towcester Centre for Leisure in the main sports hall, with two weekly sessions.
Session days and times for 2024 are yet to be confirmed.
