Weekend Sports Roundup

Rugby

Tows 1st XV played at home against Witney, who had put together an 8 game winning run, at Greens Norton Lane, on a perfect early spring day with the ground having recovered well and a great game in prospect. Although points were hard to find the rugby was excellent and Tows won by 8 points to nil against a very good Witney side, watched by over 200 spectators. With other results going Tows way the playoff spot is now firmly in Tows hands. Match report my Hugo Austin can be found on the Rugby website

The Development side clocked up another crushing defeat away against Bedford Athletic, whilst the Ultimates lost against Wellingborough, a little ring rusty having had no rugby this year!

Well done to the Colts who put up a fine performance away in the Referees Cup to beat local rivals BBOB

Hockey

The 1st X1 continued their 3 game unbeaten run against Cannock and in spite of going behind to an early goal bounced back to win 2-1 thanks to goals from both “Laura’s”. a full match report on the hockey website………

The 2nd team recovered from their disappointment of last week by thrashing Olney helped by a Hatrick from Lisa Groves!

The 3rd’s continue their excellent season with a demolition job against Rushden. 6 (SIX) goals from Maeve Preston (is this a record?) prepares them well to take on the league leaders next weekend!
