On Saturday Towcestrians (in “testing” conditions) held our second fireworks event, bigger and better than last year! (we are still learning!)! the fireworks I hope you will agree were much better and the promise of something really spectacular next year! There was also a carnival atmosphere despite the damp atmosphere with great home produced food ranging from Hog Roast, BBQ and delicious soups to popcorn and handmade toffee apples and an array of home-made cakes. This was washed down by Tows secret recipe Mulled Wine and Hot Spiced Cider designed to blow your socks clean off! ( I noted that was sold out!!)
The 25 minute fireworks display was followed by a disco for the young and old alike with the kids trying to be budding Strictly contestants and the Dad’s resembling an octopus falling out of a tree! (they never learn!)
Thank you all for your support, there were over 1,00 people on site help making it a memorable evening!
Of course an event of this scale can’t be put on without the help of a he willing (I hope?) army of volunteers who did everything from leaflet drops, cooking prior to and on the night, folk manning the stalls, parking cars, collecting money, serving and eventually clearing up the following day! a huge thank you to you all, you know who you are. Towcestrians is run by fantastic people who give their time, money and effort!
Thanks also to some individuals such as Crispin, Dunk, George, Clive, Darren, Wills and Chrissie, , the Hockey girls, Colts, Vets, Ultimates GNPC and the Firing Squad! If I have missed someone out, forgive me………
A special thanks goes to my committee who gave up many hours in the planning of such a large event and also had to put up with my rants. You all did a terrific job! Thanks to my Friends Charlie Evans, Steph Watson, Katie Fell, Mark Carter, couldn’t have done it without you!
I do hope you ALL enjoyed yourselves
