TOWCESTER 1ST VS EDGBASTON
This week saw Towcester Ladies 1st team begin their league battle vs Edgbaston in the Midlands 1 league. A noticably rusty start from Tows led them to be one goal down at the half time break with three unutilised short corners to boot. An inspirational chat from new coach Blake Dunkley during half time made Tows pull their socks up and come out a different side in the second half. Edgbaston very much on the back foot for the first ten minutes with good all round team play from Towcester including debut appearances from siblings Jess and Izzy Plumbridge. but it was Christina Clucas who slotted away a Laura Whittle pass around the Edgbaston keeper to draw level. A solid start to the season with a point gained. Player of the match was goalkeeper Sue Willers. Next week (oct 4th 1.30) Tows go away to Northampton Saints
