Tows took the lead ten minutes in and controlled the game saints had a lucky break and equalised before the half time whistle . At one a peice going into the second half it was all to play for tows soaked up some saints pressure and defended every short corner well there was no way through for saints . Tows were pushed on the back foot camped in their own half , a lightning hit from saints took a deflection to find the roof of the net to take the lead. Towcestrians 2,s vs West Bridgeford

Tows were caught cold by west Bridgeford who raced into a 2-0 lead within the first 5 minutes. The seconds rallied to prevent any further goals but rarely threatened the west Bridgeford goal. The start of the second half saw a change in fortunes as bea just missed after a great run before Tash day raced half length of the field to halve the deficit. With the game in the balance the visitors scored almost straight from the pushback and although tows did not stop trying west Bridgeford deserved their win and even though they scored a 4th in last few minutes a very young Towcester team should take alot of positive s into the next game. Final score tows 2 1, West Bridgeford 4

Towcestrians 3’s vs Kettering 4’s

An enthusiastic performance by the 3s today saw us win our first game convincingly against Kettering 4s despite the wet weather. We had plenty of possession and a few short corners in the first half of the match but found it hard to convert. Breaks and attacking chances came from everywhere with plenty of running from Nikki, Cath, Orla, Elaina and Lucy in the midfield and Hetti, Zoe and Emma upfront leading the charge. It was only a matter of time before the goals came.

Lou, India and Harriet kept things in order at the back leaving GK sue very little to do able to enjoy the rain! In the end we scored 3 goals (Cath marking her comeback to hockey with a cracking strike from the edge of the circle and hetti – cool and calm in front of the net getting the double). Great game girls. Well done all.
