Sports Update Dec 17

Rugby

The 1st XV recorded only their second win of the year following a well-attended VP’s lunch but have not been able to keep it up sadly. The squad is still decimated through injury but some of our regular first teamers are near to making their return early in the new year. They are at home this weekend with a 2.00pm start again Tring so come down and support them, they say how much your support means to them and gives them a boost.

Meanwhile the “Roses” women’s team is demolishing all before them recording a trouncing 69-0 win over previous league leaders Bishops Stortford. So, look out for their next fixture and come and cheer them on, they are playing some great rugby!

M&J’s

Following on with keeping you more informed about the M&J performances, we thought we would bring you this report about a recent outing of one of the M&J year groups. READ MORE

A great story. We thank Alan and Chris for supplying it….

On the 11th November the U6s run out as mascots with the 1st team. We believe this was a first time a 1st team player has run out with their son as a mascot, the U6s head coach James Hodges had the honour of running out on to the 1st XV pitch with his son Darcy. We don’t think this has ever happened before.

James started playing at Tows from U14s age group and has worked his way through the age groups representing Nothants alliance and East Mids on his way. He has played regular for the 1st and 2nd team over the years and was part of the Lewis Shield winning team.

On the day the U6s all had a fantastic time and really enjoyed being part of the match day representing the minis and juniors section.

I have attached some photos of James, Darcy and the U6’s join in the minute silence for Remembrance Day. Just let me know if you need any more information.

U23’s

As is becoming a Christmas tradition, Tows are hosting another U23’s game on Dec 23rd, KO 1.30pm.

Our opponents are Buckingham. This is a terrific fixture and shows off some of the great talent coming through, many of whom are returning home from Uni for the Christmas break! Beats the hell out of Xmas shopping and a chance for a bit of a social before the Christmas break!

After the U23’s game stick around and watch the Saints on TV (if you can bear it!) and maybe a Christmas singalong….

Mulled wine and mince pies will be available!
